As you know, everyone over the age of six must wear a mask to prevent the spread of coronavirus. However, many of them do not fit little ones correctly which is why, at Emwey, we have different reusable children’s masks.

Thus, our hygienic and reusable children’s masks are the appropriate size, fitting perfectly to the face and covering the nose, mouth and chin.

MAXIMUM RECOMMENDED DURATION OF USE

For reasons of comfort and hygiene, it is recommended not to use the mask for more than 4 hours. If it becomes damp or deteriorated through use, it is recommended that it be replaced.

During the period of use, the mask may only be removed in accordance with the instructions in this leaflet.

The mask should be washed whenever it becomes dirty, damp or cannot be placed properly on the face.

The mask should not be used if it is dirty or damp.

If it is to be stored temporarily, contact with any surface should be avoided.

It should also not be placed in a waiting position on the forehead or under the chin during and after use.

FITTING THE MASK

For the mask to be effective, it must be worn correctly as indicated below. For this reason, the fitting, use and removal of hygienic masks for children must be supervised by an adult.

It is recommended that the mask be placed on bare skin (i.e. without the presence of hair in contact with the user’s skin and, for some people, shaved skin) and that the following steps be respected:

1. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution before handling the mask.

2. Identify the top of the mask. Place the mask on your face and adjust the nose clip to your nose.

3. Hold the mask from the outside and attach the headgear behind the mask or to both sides of the ears, without crossing them.

4. Lower the bottom of the mask to the chin. Check that the mask covers the chin.

5. Pinch the nose clip with both hands to adjust it to the nose (if present).

6. Check that the mask is positioned correctly. To do this, it is necessary to check the seal and the absence of respiratory discomfort.

7. Once adjusted, do not touch the mask with your hands. If the user needs to touch the mask, he should first wash his hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution.

REMOVAL OF THE MASK

For the mask to be effective, it must be worn correctly as indicated below. For this reason, the fitting, use and removal of hygienic masks for children must be supervised by an adult.

1. Remove protective gloves.

2. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution.

3. Remove the mask without touching the front of the mask.

4. If the mask is to be reused, see “Washing and Drying the Mask” and if it is to be discarded permanently, see “Disposal Procedure”.

5. Wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a hydroalcoholic solution.

WASHING AND DRYING THE MASK

A complete wash cycle (wetting, washing, rinsing) must be carried out, with the usual detergent, at a washing temperature of 60 °C.

Contact between a dirty mask (to be washed) and clean clothes must be avoided. The person in charge of washing must be protected when handling dirty masks.

Products which may degrade or damage the materials and which diminish their protective capacity must not be used.

It is recommended that the mask be completely dried within 2 hours of washing.

It should not be dried or sanitized with a microwave oven.

Both during drying and during subsequent storage of the mask, environments in which the mask may become recontaminated should be avoided.

A visual inspection (with protective gloves or washed hands) should be carried out after each washing cycle. If any damage to the mask is detected (minor fit, deformation, wear, etc.), the mask should be discarded.

DISPOSAL OF THE MASK

To reduce the risks of using these masks, it should be noted that once the maximum number of washes has been exceeded, they should be discarded.

PROCEDURE FOR DISPOSAL OF THE MASK

The masks should be disposed of in a container provided with a plastic bag (preferably with a lid and a non-manual control).

It is recommended to use a double bag to preserve the contents of the first bag in case the outer bag tears.
